Built by: The city’s chief architect and plumber, Diego de Porres, between 1731 and 1736.
Architectural data: Spanish baroque style. Structurally built as a panopticon, that is, it is a building designed so that its entire interior can be completely observed from a central point.
Curious facts: It is considered the first apartment building in America because of the design of the rooms. Founded by five Spanish nuns with a characteristic brown attire and a hood that covered their heads, hence the name “Capuchinas”.
It is said that: Women who decide to enter and take their vow of chastity cease to have contact with the outside world, so at the time of death they were buried under the atrium of the main chapel and according to the guards, at present it is possible that paranormal activities take place.
Use: It is currently used as a museum and as a venue for cultural activities.
