Foundation: the community was established at the end of 1500, and its temple was built 200 years later. The land where the town was installed was owned by Diego de Vivar, a devotee of San Gaspar, and whose religiosity made him grant his patrimony. (Antigüeña Village Honors A Wise Man, 2010)
Church: the temple of San Gaspar is of baroque style, with similarity to the facade of the church of La Merced, in Antigua Guatemala.
Curious facts: The name of the village comes from the devotion to St. Gaspar, one of the Magi.
