El Hato

Foundation: It was founded between 1945 and 1950. It is located northeast of Antigua Guatemala. It is six kilometers from the municipal capital, on a dirt road. The majority of the population is engaged in agricultural activities, the main products being corn, beans, vegetables and fruit.

Church: Sacred Heart of Jesus

Curious facts: This village has a variety of tourist sites such as Hobbitenango, a park with houses in the style of the hobbits in the movie The Lord of the Rings. Also located in this village is Earth Lodge, a park with multiple interactive areas such as yoga centers, an avocado farm and tree houses.

Handicrafts: Loquat tea and bee honey.

Academy, Museum, library or art center: In this village is the “Selfie Museum”, the first of its kind in Central America, the place has exclusive and dynamic areas, even with visual effects that allow you to take creative and unique selfies.

Location: It is located behind the Candelaria hill, Sacatepéquez, around km 37.
